A new wave of ad campaigns!

While scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed tonight, I stumbled across an article that Cosmo Magazine posted about Aerie is doing for their new line of lingerie and accessories. They are not photoshopping the models! Although they are not the first to swing this ad campaign, Dove did it when they posted this video "Evolution of Beauty" where they pointed out how much photoshop is done while creating ads for big products.

Growing up, I was never obese, but I was never slim either, I constantly had to watch my weight and be aware of what I ate, I admit to falling off the whole be healthy and skinny thing after I had my daughter, but I know what these young girls are looking for, that "Model" body, that in the ads they see, it's a myth.  My mom used to hammer it in my head, those are not real people, they're photo-shopped people, but it still was something to strive for.

Dove used all sizes of women, in this campaign, and it was really inspiring. But it was just a soap commercial, nothing crazy right? It's not like the Victoria's Secret angels were doing it.  For Aerie to step up, and become a younger more teenage women's shop more than VS, I feel they're really stepping up to be role models for young women. To help younger girls, 14-21 years old strive to be healthy and fit like these models instead of skinny and unrealistic.

Don't get me wrong these models are still amazing looking, in shape, I'm still envious, but I'm glad we're finally going to start seeing some "real women" instead of these photo-shopped fakes.

Please leave your  comments on how you feel about this.

 Thank you!

Weekly update

This week has been an awesome week. We finished up Week 19 at the academy, the Husband got his Dream Sheet! We're either getting stationed in the Bay Area or LA, but most likely LA. This week he passed a huge hurdle, and finished EVOC! Next week he tests on senerios all week, then the first week of Feburary he has his second and final attempt on qualifying for his pistol. A few days after pistol qualifications we travel to exactly where we are stationed to check out the area and he does his ride along! The next three weeks will be busy, but the last three weeks will just consist on his final little classes, getting ready for graduation and packing our stuff for the big move!

As for Hailey, she has been utterly enjoying herself being at my moms place, she loves seeing my mom and sister everyday, and loves being able to play with my brothers and their animals! She's talking like crazy and loving all the great Mexican food down here in Yuma! Mom is also loving how cheap things are here! Like gas and food! And their produce is pretty much all local and fresh! I wish Winterhaven was on our dream sheet, but at least if we get LA, I'll be closer to my family!

Into

First post to the new Blog and there is so much I have been meaning to post in the last 24 weeks it's amazing! First let's start out with expecting our new bundle that's due May 2nd 2014! It has been an interesting pregnancy so far, morning sickness but not as bad as with my daughter, beginning of the second trimester I threw up a lot, if I gagged I threw up, it really sucked. now I am 24 weeks, waiting to find out the gender, still trying to convince the husband to find out, but he thinks being a surprise will be fun. Me, not so much. We are now being watched carefully for early labor but are not considered high risk. Which is good.  After finding out we were pregnant, at about 8 weeks the husband started the CHP academy, we are now in week 19 and although it has been tolerable to not live with my husband, see him everyday, and only get to talk to him at certain times when the staff is done with them, and he's done with all of his extras, studying, shinning boots, shinning brass, making sure his uniform is in tip top shape, and even then our phone time can range from 15 minutes to an hour.  From week 1 to 19 he has had quiet a bit of challenges, and has overcame them, I could not be more proud of him!  And can't tell you how excited I am we're down to 8 weeks left and then I get to see his pretty face every day! This past week he was pepper sprayed and tased to highlight that week and this week we are looking forward to DreamSheets to see where we will be stationed here after March 14! This month has also been crazy for me and my daughter, I left for my moms to help take care of her after her surgery, I'm here until the 22nd, I left coaching my girls in California to be a spectator here in Arizona, and we are going to soon find out where we will be stationed at! I will be busy the next two and a half months but it's going to be worth it, we just need to focus on this baby staying in until 36 weeks, although I think its like their sister and will want to make early appearance!
